The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the bill raising the national minimum wage. The bill was passed after the House considered the report of its ad hoc committee during plenary. Lawmakers, while considering the bill, resolved to leave the national minimum wage “as recommended by the tripartite committee”. The committee had approved N30,000 for both federal and state workers. The lower chamber passed the bill about a week after President Muhammadu Buhari sent the wage bill for consideration, after it was approved by the National Council of State. Famous ‘Bikini hiker’ falls to death on solo Taiwan climb The hiker had called her friend after the fall and informed that she was unable to move due to the injuries in her lower back. However, as the information reached late in the evening, it was only on the following morning that rescue began. The body of Wu, who had fallen in a 30 meters ravine on Saturday, was later found on Monday.  Gigi Wu, a hiker from Taiwan, who was known for climbing mountains in a bikini, died after falling into a ravine while on a solo trip. Two Soldiers Killed During Anti-Banditry Operation In Zamafara State Troops Recover Weapons From Zamfara Bandits In the ongoing war against bandits operation in  Zamfara State , two soldiers of the Nigerian Army have lost their lives. The troops also captured one of the bandits alive. Confirming the operation, Maj.  Clement Abiade , the Acting Force Information Officer of the ongoing Operation Sharan Daji,  said two soldiers and two members of a vigilance group were also killed in the encounter. Abiade said eight other soldiers and six other vigilance group members sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries. According to him, troops also rescued 75 people taken captives by the bandits after destroying 18 of their camps in the state.
